Nebulizer
There
is no reason to panic with nebulizers. A nebulizer machine is used to deliver
oxygen and medicine to the airways and lungs. "If you have a lung
infection or you need to give medicine, it is given through a nebulizer. It
works faster." Through this the medicated vapor enters the lungs through
the nose. As a result, this nebulizer machine works to deliver medicine quickly
if there is an infection in the lungs of a child or an adult.
How
does Nebulizer Machine work?
Nebulizer
machines have a compressor. An air pipe is attached to it. And his mouth has a
place to administer medicine and a mask-like mouthpiece for breathing. When the
medicine container is filled with medicine and the compressor is turned on, the
air comes through the air pipe and delivers it to the nose as a vapor. And
through the nose it reaches the trachea.
Treatment
is started with three types of drugs, bronchodilator, steroid and preventive
through a nebulizer machine.' It is used to keep airways clear. Medicines,
sterilized water and oxygen together create a vapor. It reaches the lungs
through a nebulizer machine. As a result, the nebulizer machine starts working
in much less time than the time it takes to start working by taking medicine. Accelerates
treatment. Saline water is also given as a vapor through it.
Many
times the patient falls asleep after taking the nebulizer. There is no reason
to fear it. If breathing is normal, the patient feels healthy. He sleeps
because he gets relief after long fatigue due to shortness of breath.
However,
the type of medicine that is given in a nebulizer. Also check if your child or
patient is allergic to it. If the heart rate increases while taking the
nebulizer, tell the nurse or doctor immediately. If the child is small, it
should be taken care if he is getting very irritated. If there is an
opportunity to measure the heartbeat, keep an eye on that too.
How to
clean Nebulizer Machine?
Nebulizers
are usually provided in hospitals. You can buy it and use it at home. In that
case, regular cleaning is essential. Dip the nebulizer medicine container,
mouthpiece in a bowl of soapy water after each use. Then hold it under tap
water and wash it thoroughly. Place it on a clean dry cloth and air dry. Clean
the air pipe and compressor with a wet cloth or sanitizer. Do not clean these
two things directly with water.
Nebulizer
can take the inhaler in the future?
Many
people may have this question. But inhaler is not necessary in all cases.
Perhaps a nebulizer was used to administer medicine once there was a lung
infection. Doctors do not prescribe inhalers if there is any breathing problem
after recovery. However, if there is a tendency for asthma or shortness of
breath, the doctor will see the patient and decide whether he needs a nebulizer
or not.
You can
buy a nebulizer and keep it at home. Can also be used in emergencies. But if
the doctor's advice is not taken, there may be a risk of life. There are
various courses of taking nebulizer. It can be taken multiple times a day as
needed. Doctor's advice is very important.
When
to use a nebulizer machine
Nebulizer
Machine is a well-known device for applying medicine to the lungs of asthma and
respiratory patients. With this device, the liquid medicine is compressed and
converted into a spray or aerosol with air or oxygen, which easily enters the
airways and alveoli of the lungs with breathing and relieves breathing
problems.
A
nebulizer is not a medicine, it is a special type of breathing device or device
used for various lung problems like asthma, asthma, breathing problems, cystic
fibrosis etc. However, if the correct use is not known, the medicine is not
applied properly and if there is a mistake in the application of the medicine,
there will be doubts about curing the disease. And most people can't even take
proper care of it.
Regular
use of a nebulizer is not a permanent solution. It only temporarily solves the
patient's breathing problem. If the breathing problem does not subside after
using it more than twice, it should be taken to the hospital.
Many go
to the doctor and give nebulizer if necessary. Some people bring nebulizer
machine at home. There are three types of nebulizers available. Jet, ultrasound
and mesh nebulizers. Among them, jet nebulizer is the most widely used method
in Bangladesh. Asthma, long-term shortness of breath and other respiratory
diseases require a nebulizer. In some of its parts, the liquid medicine is
sprayed into the body through a plastic tube.
Dosage
in nebulizer
The
patient should be kept in a comfortable supine position while nebulizing. The
different parts of the nebulizer should be mixed together with 23 ml of water,
5-1 salbutamol and, if necessary, 5 ml of ipratrosium solution. Switch on the
power and put the mask on the patient's mouth and take slow and long breaths.
3-6 ml of liquid is nebulized over 5/10 minutes.
Rules
of use of Nebulizer Machine
Wash
your hands with soap before and after using the nebulizer. After use nebulizer
compressor, tube, mask and nebulizer should be separated. Mouthpiece and
nebulizer should be soaked in hot water for 30 seconds, washed and dried. Tubes
and compressors cannot be cleaned from the inside, so the outside must be
cleaned. The mask should be changed every six months. The filter should be
replaced as soon as it becomes dirty.
Nebulizers
may sometimes require oxygen. Due to its use, potassium supplements may be
required as potassium levels decrease. So caution and awareness is essential in
using nebulizer.
